The Bandersnatch, from Lewis Carroll's poem The Hunting of the Snark (1876):

A Bandersnatch swiftly drew nigh
And grabbed at the Banker, who shrieked in despair,
For he knew it was useless to fly."

Solarplate is a simple and safe approach to etching that does not use acids or solvents. It is exposed with light and developed with plain water. The process works by placing a transparency in contact with the plate and exposing it briefly to the sun or UV light.
