With its head he went galumphing back...
Limited edition (100) Solar etching by David Elliot
Shows a scene from Lewis Carroll's poem Jabberwocky (1871):
“Beware the Jabberwock, my son! The jaws that bite, the claws that catch! Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun The frumious Bandersnatch!”
Each solar etching includes Carroll's quote: "he left it dead..." in the artists' own hand. Image sizes are consistent but as the paper is carefully ‘ripped’ by hand the outside dimensions of each print may vary slightly.
- Image size: 180 mm x 240 mm
- Paper size approx.: 280 mm x 380 mm
- Framed: No
Solarplate is a simple and safe approach to etching that does not use acids or solvents. It is exposed with light and developed with plain water. The process works by placing a transparency in contact with the plate and exposing it briefly to the sun or UV light.
