Flying Humpback Whale
Signed giclée print by David Elliot
Shows a colour version of the 23 m humpback whale mural on 'A' Shed in Port Chalmers near Dunedin. As David describes, “It explores the idea of an alternative history for Port Chalmers when flying whales plied the air currents above the town with howdahs made from band rotundas and ferry boats. This Humpback Whale was designed specially to fly across the wall of Port Otago’s ‘A’ Shed carrying The Elsie Evans ferryboat across a concrete sky.”
